It started with a mattress.

Before LoadUp, our founder Greg Workmon spent his days working inside sales at one of the nation’s largest waste management companies, fielding calls from people who just needed to get rid of an old mattress and had nowhere to turn. The big waste companies wouldn’t touch it. The junk removal franchises would, but only after quoting a price once the truck was already in the driveway.
So Greg founded LoadUp in 2014 with a simple fix: show customers the price before a truck ever shows up. By building a crowdsourced network of independent, licensed, and insured haulers instead of a traditional fleet, LoadUp created a leaner supply chain, one that could charge less without cutting corners on quality or coverage.
That gap, a common item nobody would take, without overcharging, is why LoadUp exists today: a solution built to make disposal accessible and affordable for everyone.
